Velin d'Arches Paper - Perfect Condition A+
This incredibly beautiful and rare image was reproduced under Picasso's supervision by Henri Deschamps, one of his closest collaborator at the Mourlot Studio. It is based on a gouache, mounted on canvas, from 1946, that is entitled "L'Aubergine" (The Eggplant). The original work is located in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
This proof is from the smaller edition of 125 on Velin d'Arches with text. The main edition was 1,000 on classic poster paper. There were also 100 proofs on regular Arches paper, without the text, numbered and signed in pencil by Pablo Picasso. Ref. Czwiklitzer #85
