Collection: Adolphe Cassandre
(1901-1968) Ukranian-French
Cassandre was born in the Ukrane to French parents and moved to Paris as a young man. He studied at the École de Beaux-Arts, the Académie Julian, the École des Arts Décoratifs, and the École d’Art Graphique. He became so successful that with a few partners he set up his own advertising agency, which served a wide variety of clients during the 1930s. After World War II, he survived by creating stage sets and costumes for the theatre.
