Bio: 

New York City based artist, J. Speed, uses Photoshop to demonstrate the richness of emotion, complexity, and humor that he sees in the world. J. Speed is fascinated with ephemera; he is attracted to the crushed cans’ unique forms, folds and scratches, the torn edges of tickets, and so on. He wants to reinforce this inherent beauty in such a way that others will esteem these ordinary objects. With the invention of Photoshop, J. Speed became able to preserve the original condition of his ephemera marvels. Using only the images of discarded bits of paper, plastic and metal as his raw materials he learned to produce works of art that could juxtapose forms and ideas, political and everyday content, natural and highly artificial colors.
