Kurosawa was a film director, screenwriter, producer, and editor. He was born in Ōimachi in the Ōmori district of Tokyo. In 1936, he became an assistant director in the PCL cinema studio and was later regarded as one of the most important and influential filmmakers in the history of cinema.
