Collection: Ania Škrobonja SKANI
(b. 1970) Rijeka, Croatia
Ania Škrobonja Skani's international career began in 2002 after a decision to live of her art work. After receiving numerous prestigious awards for her paintings, mostly in Italy, she found her second tutor Prof. Roberto Ascolese in Rome. Thanks to him, SKANI (the pseudonym coined from the combination of the first letters of her last and first name) had the opportunity to exhibit around Europe. In 2004, Professor Ascolese decided to engage another tutor in her professional growth. Thanks to the Italian Maestro Ezio Farinelli, also from Rome, today’s oils on canvas are particularly elaborated in color and technic. After Professor Ascolese's death in 2006, SKANI slowly abandoned painting and concentrated on promotion of Croatian artists internationally. In 2007, she obtained Master Degree at the Cultural studies at the University of Rijeka, Croatia. She is currently a Doctorate Candidate at the Postgraduate and Doctoral Study of Literature, Performing Arts, Film and Culture at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Ania signed her 3000th painting in February 2022 and received the Golden Award of the City of Rijeka for her contributions in cultural and humanitarian work, and education of senior citizens.
