This vintage lithographic poster of "Englishman at the Moulin Rouge" (1892) was reproduced by Mourlot Master printer Henri Deschamps for an exhibition of the Donald Karshan collection at the Indianapolis Museum of Art during its inaugural year. Donald Karshan was a curator, an art critic, Director Emeritus of The New York Cultural Center, founder and past director of the Museum of Graphic Arts and a faculty member of The New School for Social Research.
The original lithograph by Toulouse-Lautrec created in 1892 was itself based on a preparatory drawing on cardboard of the same year.
