This colorful original lithographic poster features two themes that Andre Brasilier favors: the human form and horses far off in the background. This is from the series Homage to Fernand Mourlot, printed in 1989 and 1990 to commemorate the 100 years of Fernand Mourlot. Thirteen images were chosen or composed by well known artists that had worked or printed at the Atelier including Brasilier, Cathelin, Gilot, Picasso, Leger, Miro, Buffet, Cocteau and many more. André Brasilier is a French painter and printmaker whose work is typified by a breezy lyricism, wherein real-life subjects are transposed into dreamlike settings. Brasilier’s images portray a peaceful world, with delicate compositional and color harmonies bathed in soft, cool light.
